This website is presented to provide you with information and resources to help you better understand and manage lupus. Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that is hard to diagnose, difficult to manage and if not treated can become life threatening. In simple terms, lupus develops when the body becomes "allergic to itself". There is no cure for lupus.

Lupus is more common than better-known disorders such as leukemia, multiple sclerosis, cystic fibrosis, and muscular dystrophy combined.

The Lupus Foundation of America, Inc. is the nation's leading nonprofit voluntary health organization dedicated to finding the cause of and cure for lupus and providing support and services to all people affected by lupus.

Remember there is no "I" in Lupus...Only "US!"
